about
it’s called ‘cracked phone screens’ and i’ve named the EP after it. i thought this title tied together the feelings i wrote about in all these songs, the deep heart feelings, isolation, humour, social observations and infatuation i’ve tried to put into these little pop songs.
lyrics
E
cheeks are red like my heart
pumping blood in the dark
Am
fingers still fingers fast
all eroding through glass
E
in strobe lights like ballet
close your eyes make this stay
Am
but in the morning it's gone
like a light switching on
C#m B A E
I've never said leave me alone
cause nothing is real on my own
A B
dance with me
lie with me
let's maybe feel slightly less alone
but all we see
are our cracked screens
the only things we see are on our phones
cheeks flash red with our youth
winter skin pale blue
seaweed hair on the sheets
moving slowly no breeze
all our cracks one by one
makes glass shatter undone
in our dreams no one speaks
only cleans up the blood
i’ve never said leave me alone
cause nothing is real on my own
dance with me
lie with me
let’s maybe feel it skin to skin
but all we see
are our cracked screens
knowing nothing, seeing everything
understand me
take my hand please
let's do this while we touch
but all our care
is turning square
and who am I to judge / and its never enough
Ruin our eyes with blue light
Ruin our eyes in the dark night
